Assalammualaikum & Salam Muhibbah,

Dear fellow BBGSian & SBUian,

For the first time ever, an official Alumni for our alma mater is in the midst of being set up. We are on the Go! in moving forward to become part of the Alumni society such as the likes of VIOBA (Victoria Institution), TKCOGA (Tunku Kurshiah College), MCOBA (Malay College Kuala Kangsar) and others.

Lets not forget that so many of us are where we are today because of the traditions and culture our alma mater has cultivated within us. A school is but a building but the spirit of BBGS lives on with us until the end of time.

For eight years SBU has been around and for eight years it has continued to burn the spirit of BBGS. To those who say SBU is NOT part of BBGS, I say, let us who have been blessed to call ourselves BBGSian guide and instill in them, SBUian our alma mater’s traditions.

We should not forget our duties as seniors and fellow Alumni’s. We should keep the BBGS fire and spirit burning and we should keep it alive in the heart of our fellow SBUian.

I believe that this Alumni is being set up for those of us who still feel the burning spirit of BBGS. For those who still goes down the memory lane when we have chats with our school friends and those who smile by yourself when u pass down Jalan Bukit Bintang. We have a duty as BBGSian to maintain the tradition and pass it on to our fellow juniors. Let them taste the things that was passed down to us, lets guide them towards becoming the nation’s princesses. Let them have the school life, the traditions and the opportunities we once had and enjoyed.

This Alumni is for all of us, old & new, BBGS & SBU, as one to uphold the spirit of BBGS.

Welcoming speech by Pro-tem Chairman, Sasha Lyna.
Welcoming speech by Principal of SMKSBU, Puan Noraini.

Reading and amendment of draft constitution.

3.15 pm
Election of office bearers and speech by new chairman.

3.45 pm
Singing of Centenary Song.
Performance by Shirtliff.

4.00 pm
END.

As they always say, time and tide waits for no man. It seems like only yesterday that you and a few of your best buddies were strolling along the corridors of your school, laughing and enjoying the warmth of their company. It seems like only yesterday that you cried with them in an empty classroom when something upset you. And also, it seems like only yesterday that you left school, held their hands, and vowed to be friends forever.

But the tides of change settle in and you grow up. How many wanted to keep their vow but failed? And, how many actually get the chance to get back in touch with their old friends after years of separation?

And with that, it is our great pleasure to announce that SMK Seri Bintang Utara is organizing an alumni gathering for both the former girls of the Bukit Bintang Girls School (BBGS) and the former students of SMK Seri Bintang Utara. We are gathering all former students from both schools regardless of age and graduation year as long as you are a former student. The details are as follows :

Date: 6th September 2008
Venue: Skylite, SMK Seri Bintang Utara
Time: 2 p.m. onwards
